Where Have All the Flower Children Gone?
The streets were silent so long that I forgot the sound of collective outrage. And then, like a dormant volcano erupting, the protestors returned—this time, with gray in their hair and a fire rekindled by the actions of the newest occupant of the Oval Office. I couldn’t help but shake my head. For years, we’ve sent soldiers into wars fueled by lies, and yet, not a fraction of this fury filled the streets. Where were the marches for the wars post-9/11? Where were my old comrades, the liberal boomers who once roared against Vietnam?
